Cookie Family Management

A cross-platform app designed to help families share the mental load of organizing their daily tasks. This connected system allows everyone to contribute to and manage daily routines without neglecting family life.

Overview

 

Cookie Family Management is a multiplatform app (iOS, Android, and web) developed for and aimed at families. Its purpose is to distribute the mental load of daily family life: school calendars, household chores, reminders, and responsibilities, all within a single connected system.

The product includes a separate app for children, where they can track their own tasks and events. This allows them to earn “cookies” as rewards for each completed task.

At We Build IT, we worked to strengthen and complete the product’s development, supporting Cookie from its initial stages through its public launch; it is now available as a web app and mobile app.

 

Background

 

This project was born from the idea of a mom who knows firsthand what daily life is like in most households: working parents, children with multiple extracurricular activities, school, homework, and increasingly complex family logistics.

While at work we have tools to organize ourselves and be proactive, at home most families continue to operate in reactive mode, shouldering what Cookie calls “invisible work”: everything that a single person remembers, plans, and oversees without the rest of the family seeing it. This idea stems from that gap, to make that work visible and involve the whole family equally in a way that’s motivating rather than forced, thanks to the incentive of earning cookies for each completed task.

 

Solution

 

The client came to us with a product foundation already in place, but needed a team to consolidate it, resulting in robust, stable software ready for market launch. That’s where our development team stepped in to directly strengthen that technical foundation and move the product toward launch. The final solution includes:

• A shared calendar where the family can view events, commitments, and responsibilities all in one place.
• Clear, frictionless task assignment to distribute the workload among everyone, including babysitters, grandparents, or anyone else key to family logistics.
• Smart reminders that anticipate upcoming events and prevent anything from falling through the cracks.

Cookie Jar Rewards, a rewards feature: children complete household chores to earn “cookies” toward a goal they set themselves, combining different tasks to achieve it.

 

Challenges

 

Since it’s highly specialized training, the challenge was to organize technical content focused on safety without creating an overwhelming experience.

We designed a journey that allows participants to understand where they are, easily access relevant resources, and know what comes next, while the platform remains flexible enough to evolve with the program.

 

Result

 

Today, Cookie Family Management is officially a multiplatform app; it has been launched and is available to the public, with active subscription plans and a presence on social media.

What began as a product foundation in need of strengthening is now a fully functional app on the market, featuring a complete family organization system: calendar, tasks, reminders, and Cookie Jar Rewards. It helps real families reduce their mental load day by day.
